Hull City head to The Valley on Friday night to face Charlton after suffering a bitter defeat at the hands of Leeds on Tuesday night. Both sides are coming into the game on the back of a loss though, as Charlton conceded a 92nd minute winner against Huddersfield at the Valley on the same night.
Last Time vs Charlton
The City side has dramatically changed since the Tigers thrashed Friday nights hosts 6-0 in early 2016. A hattrick from Abel Hernandez and further goals by Robert Snodgrass, Isaac Hayden and Mohamed Diame was the huge difference between the sides that day. City were promoted that season and eventually relegated, whilst Charlton have done the polar opposite. Both teams are finally in the same league once again and it should make an exciting game for the cameras.
Atrocious Addicks Form
Charlton come into the encounter on a nine game winless run, which has seen them lose to the likes of Luton, Middlesbrough and Millwall. In six of those games, the team in red have lost by a one goal margin. As City head to the Valley looking for a result, the expectance of a very close game is significantly high. The Tigers have lost four of their last ten games, winning five of those. The “Typical City” element could definitely play a part in London.
Charlton (Last 10) – WLLLLLLLLL
Hull City (Last 10) – LWWWLDWLWL
There are no fresh injury concerns for Grant McCann’s selection to face Charlton, with Josh Magennis, Jon Toral, Norbert Balogh and Kevin Stewart still sidelined. As for Charlton; Josh Cullen, Jake Forster-Caskey, Sam Field, Lewis Page, Beram Kayal, and George Lapslie will remain sidelined. Jonny Williams could potentially return.
